Suratez "Rudy" Antonio Sims, 37, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on September 21, 2026. Born on April 26, 1989, in Atlanta, Georgia, Rudy lived a life centered around love, family, and caring for those closest to him.
Rudy was truly the man of the family—loving, protective, dependable, and always making sure everyone was okay. He was the one who checked in, made the phone calls, and reminded his loved ones through his actions that they mattered. If Rudy loved you, you knew it.
He graduated from Washington High School and later attended Atlanta Technical College, where he earned an Associate Degree in Auto Collision.
Rudy was a devoted husband to Madeline Kevick and a proud, loving father to his four children: Suratez Antonio Sims Jr., Leocardo Julian Sims, Samirah Gabriella Sims, and Kaycen George Sims. His wife and children were at the center of his world, and some of his happiest moments were simply being at home with his family.
The kitchen was one of Rudy’s favorite places. He loved cooking for his family and took special pride in preparing his signature fried chicken. A meal made by Rudy was more than food—it was another way he showed his love.
When he wasn’t cooking or calling to check on someone, Rudy enjoyed playing Call of Duty and spending quality time with the people he loved. He will be remembered for his caring heart, thoughtful nature, protective spirit, and for being someone his family could always depend on.
Rudy leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Madeline; his four beloved children; his parents, Trya LaShone Sims and Juan Alexander Duhart; his four brothers and two sisters; and a host of family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives were touched by his presence.
Though his time here was far too short, the love Rudy gave his family will remain with them forever. His calls, his laughter, his cooking, his protection, and the way he always made sure everyone was okay will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Rudy was more than a husband, father, son, and brother—he was the heart of his family. His love and memory will live on through everyone who loved him.
