Georgia Anna Jackson was born on May 23, 1939, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Willie Mae Bowser and Oxnide Jackson. From an early age, Georgia accepted Christ as her personal Savior, a decision that would guideand illuminate her path throughout life. A faithful soldier forthe Lord, she was a God-fearing woman whose love for people and service was evident in all she did.
Georgia was known for her virtuous spirit and her gift of hospitality. She found joy in serving others andexemplified grace, kindness, integrity and unwaveringfaith. Her presence brought warmth and love to all who knew her.
She was united in marriage to Reverend J.R. Staten, whopreceded her in death. Georgia’s greatest joy came from her family— her beloved children, cherished sisters, nieces and nephews a host of friends and extended familywhom she loved deeply and unconditionally.
Her legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in thehearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Georgia is preceded in death by her beloved sisters, RoseMarie Cook and Brenda Joyce McDaniel.
She leaves to cherish her memory of her three children: Keith James Williams, Byron Williams, and Dellareesa Williams; her cherished grandchildren: Brian Christopher Williams, Naomi Golan Williams, Tamir Golan Williamsand great grandchildren; her devoted daughter-in-law, TaliGolan Williams; and her only surviving and loving sister, Marion Ruth Santinac.
The legacy of Georgia will fondly be remembered on earth always.
