Celebrating the Life of Minnie Lou Jordan (Green)
Minnie Lou Jordan (Green) was born on June 27, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
to the late Fred Taylor and Bessie Mae Green. She peacefully departed this life on
August 15, 2026, at her home in Dallas, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family.
Raised by her grandmother and later her Aunt Evelyn, Minnie met the love of her life,
Allen Jordan, while in the ninth grade. They were united in holy matrimony on March 17,
1962, and shared 64 beautiful years of marriage. Their union was blessed with four
children: Evelyn, Cassandra, Dorphine, and Allen, Jr. Together, they also raised their
granddaughter, Diamond Alessandria Jordan, and Minnie lovingly helped raise her
special daughter, Gennie Rhoades.
Minnie attended South Philadelphia High School and later earned college credits at
Temple University. Her life was devoted to helping others. She served as a Teacher
Aide, Counselor, mentor, and for 20 years as a Mental Health Technician with CATCH.
She had a special passion for encouraging and uplifting women and young people.
A devoted woman of faith, Minnie served in women’s ministry at Garden of Prayer
World’s Prayer Center in Philadelphia. After moving to Dallas, Georgia, in 2011, she
joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as President of the
Women’s Ministry. In recognition of her faithful service, the ministry was later named
The Minnie Jordan Women’s Ministry in her honor.
Minnie will forever be remembered for her loving heart, compassionate spirit, and
devotion to family. She was the glue that held her family together and had a special gift
for making others feel loved, accepted, and understood.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved daughter, Cassandra
Nadine.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Allen Jordan, Sr.; daughters,
Evelyn and Dorphine; son, Allen, Jr.; special daughter-in-law, Femi (Mason) Jordan;
special daughter, Genie; special niece, Christina Taylor (son, Christian); 14
grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; cousins, extended family, special friends, church
family, and countless loved ones.
Rest peacefully, Minnie. Your work on earth is done, but your love and beautiful spirit
will remain forever in our hearts.
Lovingly submitted,
The Family
