Marie-Anne Olga Normil-Sanon
Olga, affectionately known to loved ones as M’ga or Tatie Ga, age 91, of Douglasville,
GA, passed away peacefully early Sunday, June 7, 2026. Born in Cazale, Haiti, Olga
was the cherished daughter of Mirabeau Normil Sanon and Quercina (Benoit) Sanon.
Olga completed her secondary education in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, before earning a
degree in Secretarial studies at Ecole de Commerce Julien Craan. She began her
service to others as a volunteer ambassador at Holy Trinity Cathedral, where she
warmly welcomed and assisted both residents and visitors from around the world. Her
passion for helping others led her to begin her career as an educator, which spanned
over the course of 25 years working for the deaf, blind, and physically disabled children
of Haiti at Saint Vincent’s Center for Children with Disabilities. In 1988, Olga immigrated
to Massachusetts to be closer to her family. She worked in the United States for about a
decade before officially retiring in 1999. In 2005, Olga relocated to Georgia with her
siblings, where she resided until her passing.
Although Olga never had any children of her own, she was deeply dedicated to her
family and served as a maternal anchor. Throughout each generation of the family, Olga
is remembered as a parental figure who cherished the children around her in every way
a mother would. She poured a lifetime of fierce wisdom and blunt devotion to everyone
around her with the truest essence of a mother’s love.
Olga was also profoundly devoted to her faith and the Episcopal church throughout her
life. Although she relocated many times over the years, she was a good Samaritan who
always participated in the church community and shared her beautiful voice as a
dedicated member of the church choir. Her unwavering faith is a testament to the
beautiful life that she lived.
To know Olga is to know love. She had a remarkable way of making the people around
her feel cared for, supported, and seen. Her advice, whether solicited or not was always
rooted in deep love and genuine concern. Though her presence will be profoundly
missed, the memories she created and love she shared will be cherished in our hearts
forever.
Olga was predeceased by her sisters; Marie-Anne E. Prophete, and Reverend
Fernande Sanon Pierre-Louis, and Fernande's husband, Frantz; her brother, Reverend
Felix Sanon; and her brother-in-law, George Dupoux, beloved husband of her sister
Altagracia. She is survived by her siblings: Altagracia Dupoux, Agathe Joseph and her
husband Alexis, and Jean-Claude Sanon and his wife Nancy; as well as her sister-in-
law, Milorenne Sanon, widow of Felix.
She is also survived by her cherished cousins, nephews and nieces, and extended
family members.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, June 19,
2026, between 4:00pm and 7:00pm at Willie A. Watkins Funeral Home on 8312 Dallas
Highway, Douglasville. A celebration of life Church Service will be held on Saturday,
June 20, 2026 at 11am at St. Julians Episcopal Church, 5400 Stewart Mill Road,
