Mantilla Aloi Meadows, 61, of Atlanta, GA, formerly of Rocky Mount, VA, passed away on October 10, 2025. He was born on May 13, 1964 to the late Richard F. Meadows Jr. and Lillian Hughes Meadows. Mantilla was the youngest of five children.
He was a proud graduate of East Surry High School and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Mantilla was an avid traveler with a special fondness for cities such as Chicago, IL; New York, NY; Las Vegas, NV; Philadelphia, PA; Seattle, WA; and Boston, MA. A true lover of music across all genres, he found joy in exploring new places, visiting friends, and engaging in thoughtful conversations with family. Though private and reserved, Mantilla was deeply loved and will be remembered by all who truly knew him.
Mantilla is survived by his sister, Belva Vanessa Meadows; nephews, Bryce Meadows and Asa Jurai; and niece, Amanda Meadows, all of GA. He is also survived by his paternal half-niece, Ericka Lovelace Taylor, and great-niece, Tierra Taylor; as well as his aunts, Geraldine Hughes Kiser of Winston-Salem, NC; Opal Hughes Watkins of Pilot Mountain, NC; and Ruby Meadows Allen of Detroit, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Feud Meadows Jr. and Lillian Irene Hughes Meadows; his paternal half-brother, Eric Lovelace; and his sisters, Monte LaRocque and Monica Meadows, along with many beloved uncles, aunts, and cousins.
In accordance with Mantilla's wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. His family honors and respects his request and celebrates the life he lived and the memories he leaves behind.
